Hello
I’m Cherif, a technologist, builder, and optimist about where software is headed.
I’ve spent my career at the intersection of product, platform, and performance, from crafting iPhone builds at Apple, to leading client platform teams at Facebook and now Pinterest. Along the way, I’ve obsessed over the craft of building fast, reliable, and delightful apps, whether in JavaScript, Swift, or the frameworks that tie them together.
Today, the landscape is shifting again. AI is eating software. We’re entering an era where engineering is less about syntax and more about systems thinking, creativity, and direction.
This space is where I explore that evolution, sharing insights on iOS, frontend architecture, Node.js, and the new frontier of AI-assisted development. You’ll find notes on what works, what doesn’t, and how teams can stay grounded while everything around them accelerates.
Outside of code, I build real things too : homes, cabins, and sometimes even companies. I believe craftsmanship, whether in experiences or software, is still the most human act we have.
If you care about thoughtful engineering, incremental progress, and what it means to build in the age of intelligent tools, welcome. You’re in good company.
